I'm on a mission to inspire people and organisations to find flow and perform their best. I work with small, purpose-driven companies to create systems, practices, and tools that propel them towards their goals.
Real transformation starts from the inside out. It starts with each of us taking an honest look in the mirror and asking how we're helping or hindering progress, how we're showing up for others, and how we're demonstrating our values.
When the intrinsic motivators of curiosity, passion, autonomy, mastery, and purpose come together, people perform their best and achieve things that would otherwise seem impossible. I help build organisations that are as capable as the people within them, unlocking the creativity, talent, and capability that is within each of us.
I aim to align my thoughts, words, and actions to be an integral partner you can trust, working with you to build a sustainable business that positively impacts the world. I think like an outsider and behave like an insider, observing and understanding patterns from an outside perspective, whilst taking your mission, vision, and values as my own.
My Values
People over process, structure, and profit
Sustainable value over short-term results
Creative innovation over staying the course
Inviting change over setting expectations
Going deep over solving symptoms
That is, while I value things on the right, I place greater value on the left.
Partner qualities I look for:
-
A purpose beyond profit that contributes to making a positive difference in the world.
-
An appetite to break down bureaucratic structures that no longer serve the organisation.
-
A genuine desire for a human-centric culture that values each individual as a creative contributor to the company.
As a registered International Coaching Federation (ICF) member, I adhere to the ICF code of ethics and its values of Professionalism, Collaboration, Humanity, and Equity.
My Background
My background is in agile software development in various roles and companies, coaching teams to discover better ways of working together. I have learned many lessons over the years, from wasteful practices that erode trust and effectiveness to those that cultivate collaboration and peak performance.
The Culture Coach idea was born from these experiences, and the desire to work with a wider range of teams and companies to create environments where people can perform their best.
When I'm not wearing the Culture Coach hat you'll find me on my bike in the beautiful Whakarewarewa forest in Rotorua, New Zealand, or spending time with my wife and two girls.
